FIFA Best: Messi Voted Ronaldo, Ronaldo didn't and other surprises from the voters

The FIFA Best award 2019 held at Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, Italy and to the surprise of many and likewise the expectation of many Lionel Andres Messi won the highly coveted award of the FIFA Best 2019 which is not far-fetched from his amazing goal scoring record - that saw him win the golden boot award, the pinchinchi and the highest goal scorer in the UEFA Champions league 2018/2019 Season

MESSI VOTED FOR RONALDO AS SECOND CHOICE FOR FIFA BEST BUT RONALDO DIDN'T VOTE MESSI AT ALL

Surprised! It was suppose to be a competition but Lionel Messi voted for Ronaldo as his second choice but Cristiano Ronaldo didn't vote for Lionel Messi in his first, second and third choice.

Instead Cristiano Ronaldo as the captain of Portugal voted for De Ligt Matthijs as his First choice(5 points), De Jong Frenkie was his second choice(3 points) and Mbappe Kylian his third choice(1 points) while Lionel Messi considered Cristiano Ronaldo fit to be in the top three of FIFA best with Ronaldo voted as his second choice(3 points), Sadio Mane was his first choice and De Jong Frenkie his third choice.

  • Belgium, Captain. - Eden Hazard
  • first: Sadio Mane
  • Second: Virgil Van Dijk
  • third: Lionel Messi

  •  Bosnia and Herzegovania - Edin Dzeko
  • first: Lionel Messi
  • second: Cristiano Ronaldo
  • thrid: Virgil Van Dijk

  •  Croatia, Captain - Luka Modric
  • The previous holder of the FIFA Best award after his amazing performance in the 2018 world cup vote was not much of a surprise - he voted his former team mate as first choice.
  • first: Cristiano Ronaldo
  • second: Eden Hazard
  • third: Lionel Messi

  • England, Captain - Harry Kane
  • First: Lionel Messi
  • second: Virgil Van Dijk
  • third: Cristiano Ronaldo

  • Gabon, Captain - Aubameyang Pierre Emeric Francois Emiliano
  • first: Cristiano Ronaldo
  • second: Eden Hazard
  • third: Lionel Messi

  •  France, Captain - Hugo Lloris
  • You would want to think that the captain of France and a goal keeper will have a goal keeper in any of his top three selection but the reverse is the case here.
  • first: Lionel Messi
  • second: Cristiano Ronaldo
  • third: Kylian Mbappe

  • Netherlands, Captain - Virgil Van Dijk
  • With his earlier statement that Lionel Messi deserves the award so far he plays on the football pitch and if he wins it he will take it. He voted messi as his first choice
  • first: Lionel Messi
  • second: Mohammed Salah
  • third: Sadio Mane

  •  France, Coach - Didier Deschamps
  • Not surprising that the coach of France voted for the player from his Nationality
  • first: Kylian Mbappe
  • second: Cristiano Ronaldo
  • third: Lionel Messi

  •  England, Coach - Gareth Southgate
  • first: Lionel Messi
  • second: Cristiano Ronaldo
  • third: Virgil Van Dijk
The England coach was among the first set of important personality who graced the award ceremony in Milan that rose to their feet to applaud Lionel Messi when he was named the 2019 FIFA Best player.

  •   Germany, Coach - Joachim Low
  • The German coach didn't consider the highly proclaimed GOAT in the person of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in his first, Second and third choice, he voted in this line
  • first: Eden Hazard
  • second: Kylian Mbappe
  • third: Sadio Mane

It was Messi Illustrious season of 2018/2019 that gave him the coveted FIFA Best Award 2019 and here we have another season, the competition is here again and Ignited for who wins the award next year. Lionel Messi had an amazing performance against Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United in the UEFA Champions league and superb performance against Valencia, Real betis, Sevilla, Villareal, Real Madrid in La liga to mention but a few.

Messi took the the top honour with 46 percent of the vote, followed by Virgil Van Dijk with 38 percent and Cristiano Ronaldo with 36 percent.

Shocking revelations why the PCP presidential candidate - Felix Nicolas came third in the 2019 Election

The 2019 presidential election that took place on the 23rd of February, came with lot of surprises and its outcome further beam light on what determines how votes are won with the Nigerian voters, this will be a good lesson and case study for future election planning and preparation. Many anticipated better performance in terms of number of votes that will be gotten by the likes of the candidates of the Africa Action Congress (AAC), Young Progressives Party (YPP), Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Social Democratic party (SDP), and the Peoples Trust (PT) whose candidate were Omoyele Sowere, Kingsley Moghalu, Durotoye Olufela, Donald Duke and  Gbenga Olawepo-Ashim respectively.

The famous third force movement had a lot of support, especially on social media, that you will think they could get huge number of votes and put up a good fight against the big two -  the APC and the PDP. Alas! The final result saw an unknown candidate of the People's Coalition Party (PCP), Felix Nicolas with a total votes of 110,196 emerge as the second runner up and the sum of the votes garnered by the AAC - 33,953, YPP - 21,886, ANN - 16,779, SDP - 34,746 and the PT - 2,613 wasn't up to the votes of the PCP candidate in the 2019 presidential election.

The only reason the candidate of the PCP came third can only be the making of Luck by chance. YES! Nothing more. The party and the candidate would have been more surprised of those numbers!

The Campaign of the PCP candidate and social Media Penetration

The candidate of the PCP and the party PCP would have been more surprised that the party was able to garner that number of votes, the party didn't do any intensive campaigning, the likes of AAC, YPP, and ANN would have not gotten the number of votes they got if not for the impact of their aggressive social media campaign.

The Candidate and the party PCP

Felix Nicolas is a New York based pastor and hails from Esan south in Edo state, he has an associate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from federal polytechnic, Auchi Edo state and also, CEO of Zoe Homecare Agency, and Adiel Real estate and development company AAC. I and many Nigerians alike didn't come across any of his campaign train either on social media or in the cities or villages. The PCP was among the newly registered 23, newly registered parties by INEC in August, 2018.

The votes the PCP and Felix Nicolas got was as a result of chance

The arrangement of the political parties on the ballot papers is always done alphabetically in ascending order and it happens that the PCP will come first before the PDP and the colours are almost similar, except for the hammer on the logo of the PCP. The logo of the PDP and the PCP both had green, white and red.

The INEC only started voters education on how to vote and the boxes to print fingers on barely two weeks into the presidential election. The boxes to print the ink on was misinterpreted by the voters as the box for the PCP was very close to that of the PDP and some that voted for PDP thought it was the box at the top and ended up voting for the PCP. The PDP can as well claim this votes - though it won't close up on the gap the APC won the elections.

If you doubt all this, aren't you surprised that the PCP had a spread of vote across all state in the country, which was not so for the likes of AAC, PT, YPP who where only massively voted in their state of Origin and Major cities with high literacy rates.

Why didn't the PCP put up this same show in other position they contested in the 2019, in politics any chess move is allowed, we can also infer that the PCP was registered to cause this kind of confusion for voters, since the PCP are among the 23 newly registered political parties - though this may not be true.

Lastly, The PCP presidential candidate endorsed the candidate of the PDP before the February 23rd presidential elections.

The numbers don't just had up, the votes garnered by the PCP and their candidate, Felix Nicolas was by the mercies of chance and luck!
